The Robot Revolution |
As a polishing robot whose primary function is cleaning floors, Scoot remains neutral in the war between the robots and Missbelindachandrakind – but does manage to cause some trouble for the resistance by attracting the robots to their location. An unexpected ally to the Doctor and Belinda, he is happy to clean up after them – literally!
Scoot’s function on Missbelindachandra One is to clean, clean, clean for its master - whoever that might be. Like all robots, Scoot serves the Great A.I. Generator, who has taken over the planet, but also recognises Belinda Chandra as its “queen”.
Scoot follows Belinda and the Doctor as they make their escape from the battle with the Missbelindachandrabots; but the Doctor switches the Polish-Bot off, concerned that the robots could use Scoot’s location to track them down. Feeling guilty over her role in the war between robots and the Missbelindachandrakind, Belinda eventually switches Scoot back on, leading the Missbelindachandrabots to her and the Doctor’s location so she can confront the A.I. Generator.
Scoot plays a pivotal role in the Doctor and Belinda’s defeat of Alan, the A.I. Generator, by scooping up a dropped Star Certificate from the Doctor and delivering it to Belinda. She uses the certificate to create a paradox that pulls Alan back through his own timeline, reducing him to a sperm and an egg on the floor – which Scoot immediately cleans up!
Scoot was designed by Michael van Kesteren and the prop team at Bad Wolf. It is voiced by Louise Sutton.
