Sasha 55 is committed to the cause of resisting the robots, and the Doctor finds her a valuable ally in the six months he spends helping combat the robot revolution. Becoming close friends, the Doctor even promises her a trip in the TARDIS - a trip she is tragically unable to take. Her death becomes a catalyst in the people’s uprising, as it prompts both the Doctor and Belinda to defeat the Great A.I. Generator. 

Character Bio

Sasha 55 is a leading figure in the resistance of the Missbelindachandrakind against the robots and their ruler, the Great A.I. Generator. When the Doctor lands on Missbelindachandra One, he is immediately thrown into the middle of the robot uprising on the previously peaceful planet, and is rescued by Sasha and her allies. Joining the resistance, the Doctor becomes close friends with Sasha, who looks after him when he arrives and impresses him with her fearlessness and tactical ability. They fight together on the planet for six months in secret, infiltrating the throne room in preparation for the arrival of the planet’s “queen”.

Sasha is there to welcome Belinda Chandra when she arrives on the planet with her robot abductors. Explaining to Belinda that the Missbelindachandrakind obey their robot overlords in all things, she also quietly asks her to save them.

When the Doctor signals the resistance to fight back against the Missbelindachandrabots, Sasha is tragically killed in the crossfire. Her death weighs heavily on the Doctor, who had promised to take her to the stars, and on Belinda, who feels guilty to have caused her death indirectly. This also causes friction with the rest of the resistance, who blame Belinda for Sasha’s death; resulting in her offering herself to the A.I.Generator to spare any further sacrifice.
