Dot and Bubble |
Outwardly flirty, approachable and trivial, Ricky is in fact a very intelligent and engaged member of Finetime, whose preference for real books and the real world sets him apart from the rest of the colony. Brave and committed to rescuing others from the Mantraps, his selflessness was his ultimate undoing as Lindy Pepper-Bean sacrificed him to save herself, despite her protestations of love for him.
The most popular social media user on the socials-obsessed colony Finetime, Ricky September was known for his beauty, miming to classic pop songs and for being followed by... Everyone! (Even the Doctor and Ruby were fans...)
However, behind the lip gloss and lip-syncing Ricky (real name Richard Coombes) preferred not to use his Dot and Bubble, instead reading history books, learning about technology, and wandering around the real, non-digital world. Because of this, he became aware of the Mantraps much earlier than the rest of the world and used this knowledge to try and save the colonists.
He was ultimately killed by a Dot due to Lindy revealing his real surname, which was alphabetically ahead of hers.
Ricky September is played by Tom Rhys Harries.
