“++ HOT METAL +++ DOCTOR +”

First Regular Appearance
The Giggle

Vlinkstatic X-Form Robo-Neuro-Actoform Designation Number 5576, better known as 'The Vlinx', is a recent addition to the UNIT staff. Unlike its colleagues, the Vlinx is a robot and, seemingly, one from another world. Wired into the UNIT ops room, it’s rumoured that the Vlinx joined UNIT after it was salvaged from a crashed spaceship. It can also fire lasers from its eyes!

Character Bio

When the Fourteenth Doctor arrived at UNIT Tower to help defend the Earth against the Toymaker, he was greeted by the Vlinx, a previously unseen member of the UNIT Team. With the ability to scan and diagnose pretty much anything, the Vlinx proved its mettle by inventing the Zeedex, a device that nullified the rage-inducing effect of the Toymaker’s Giggle.

The Vlinx later teamed-up with the Fifteenth Doctor and Ruby Sunday when they dropped in to UNIT to investigate a mysterious woman who had been popping up across their recent adventures. Sadly, not even a hot metal upgrade could save the Vlinx from Sutekh’s dust of death and, seemingly, it died defending UNIT. However, the robot was resurrected when the Doctor defeated Sutekh. The Vlinx then helped reunite Ruby with her birth mother by retrieving her DNA.
