Dangerous, manipulative and charming, Roger ap Gwilliam is the definition of a people’s politician - with frightening policies to match. Although he is stopped in both universes, he was a real threat to the safety of both the UK and the wider world, as well as being a danger to his staff on a personal level.

Character Bio

Leader of the Albion Party and eventual Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Roger ap Gwilliam started from humble beginnings, such as a pizza delivery boy and hospital porter to name but two, to reach the pinnacle of UK politics. 

He proposes policies such as compulsory DNA testing across the UK, leaving NATO and the purchase of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons in order to make Britain the “greatest country in the world”. He is also known for a darker personality beneath his outward charm especially when dealing with his staff. 

In the timeline without the Doctor, an older Ruby Sunday manages to bring down ap Gwilliam by setting the Woman on him on the eve of his first big rally, leading him to resign as Prime Minister without a given reason. He was also defeated through undisclosed means in the original timeline, as revealed by the Fifteenth Doctor.
