Jackie Tyler describes her late husband and Rose's dad as a "grafter" - always going on adventures and coming up with mad ideas. Some of his business plans either fail or succeed spectacularly, depending on what universe you're in; but the one thing that remains consistent is Pete's love and devotion for his family.

Character Bio

Peter Alan Tyler died in a car accident on 7th November, 1987, leaving behind wife, Jackie, and six-month-old daughter, Rose. She grew up being told fun stories about her father by Jackie. However, Rose was sad that he died alone so, when the Ninth Doctor asked her where and when in time she wanted to go, she asked to see her dad on the day of his death to ensure he would have someone by his side in his final moments.

Rose ended up saving her father’s life resulting in the appearance of creatures known as ‘Reapers’ who, to sterilise the ‘wound in time’ created by the Doctor's companion, devoured everything in sight.

After noticing the recurrence of a car driving around the church they were hiding, Pete realised that Rose was his daughter from the future - and that he should not be there. To undo the damage caused by the Reapers, Pete sacrificed himself and let his death play out as it did originally. With Rose at his side this time, he didn’t spend his final moments alone.

Some time had passed after the Doctor’s regeneration when the TARDIS fell out of the vortex and on to a parallel Earth. On this word, Rose discovered that her father was not only alive but a successful businessman and a millionaire. He used his clout to influence politics, becoming an advisor to John Lumic, a reclusive genius and creator of the Cybermen. Pete plotted with the Preachers to take down Cybus Industries from the inside. With the help of the Tenth Doctor and Rose, he was able to put a stop to the Cybermen - but not before his version of Jackie was ‘upgraded’.

Ever in pursuit of the Cybermen, who had crossed the Void into Rose’s universe, Pete met the Doctor again at the Battle of Canary Wharf. There, he came face to face with Jackie Tyler. She wasn’t his Jackie, and he wasn’t her Pete. But it didn’t matter! He saved Rose when she was almost sucked into the Void and they lived together on the parallel Earth, known as ‘Pete’s World’ with Jackie Tyler. Rose would eventually gain a brother when Jackie and Pete had another child, Tony.
